New Years Resolutions never work out too well for me. So instead of setting myself up for failure, I’m going to try something new. I’m making a list of 24 things I want to carry out in 2010. Why 24? This April, I’ll be turning 24 and thinking of any more is too hard for the first day of the year. Some of them are a bit extreme, but why not aim high. It is a new decade after all. You can track my progress over on the tab that says Twenty Four in 2010. It will be a fantastic year!
- Go skydiving
- Visit 5 new cities
- Run a 5k
- Go to the gym/workout 5 days a week for a month
- Try 10 new foods
- Video blog 3 times (I hate the word ‘vlog’)
- Enroll Waldi in obedience classes
- Apply to 5 grad schools
- Take the GREs
- Have a No Spend Month
- Read 50 books
- Complete 5 sewing projects
- Participate in a CSA
- Visit a foreign country I haven’t been to yet
- Finish 5 knitting projects
- Get Lasik eye surgery
- Take 10 pictures I would frame
- Find a church in the area I like and go regularly
- Enter a photo contest
- Take scuba diving class
- Go sailing
- Go wine tasting
- Write a note or card to a friend once a month
- Meet 5 bloggers in real life that I admire
Bring it on 2010!

You should definitely make a list for 2010! I think the energy will come throughout the year, at least I hope it does.

Awesome list! I totally feel you on the church. Trent and I want to find one that has intelligent sermons, fun young people and good music. It’s ridiculously hard. Also, I feel like I can help you out on some of these considering you’re coming to visit me and you’ve never been here! Yay! Also, that wine tasting one, there are a slew of NC wineries that Trent and I have passed driving to his parents house and apparently there are a ton all over the state. We’ve been wanting to go to a tasting. Maybe that could be a fun outing we do when you come up. If my sister can get in. haha You’ve really inspired me. Maybe I’ll come up with my own list. Happy New Year! (Can you believe it’s 2010?!)

For some reason, I think the church one is going to be harder than I thought. Imagine that in Catholic South Bend!!

Oh my. A No Spend Month. I’ll just have to live vicariously through you on that one, because I’d fail on day three.
I need to make a list…

No Spend month will be really hard but I feel that it will really put into perspective what I need and what I want. Something I struggle with right now. Make a list and let me know when its up!

Sky diving is also on my goal list this year!! And I would love to get Lasik eye surgery – so much better than contacts!

I’m really looking forward to Lasik, now if only I could afford it…. I think that is where the No Spend Month comes in.
Thanks for the comment!

Oh wow that’s quite the list! I always get intimidated by those huge 101 in 1001 lists and something like this sounds far more manageable. I should’ve done a 25 before 25
Good luck skydiving!! I’ve ALWAYS wanted to do that!

I’m intimidated too by the big lists, that’s why I started off small. I’ll let you know how skydiving goes. There will surely be a blog post about it, hopefully with pictures!

Good for you! This is going to be an amazing year, and I can definitely see you completing all these goals!
I’m also super excited to read about the skydiving. I wouldn’t be brave enough to even attempt that!

This is a great to-do in 2010 list! I’m so very glad you added me as a friend on 20-something bloggers — I’m so digging your blog. Not to mention, I always LOVE to meet dachshund owners (I had one growing up and my parents currently have 2 dachshunds — both rescue dogs). Welcome to the world of blogging. I’ll be back soon!

These are awesome resolutions! I took the GRE last year, more or less on a whim, and it honestly wasn’t that scary. Stay strong!
I also love the idea of a No Spend Month. Man, even thinking of it makes me cringe — maybe I should try it! (And then, obvi, blog about it…)

Definitely try the No Spend Month then we can compare how we did. The GREs scare me because it is a standardize test. Who honestly does well on those??
